Ride the Mid-Mountain Trail out of White Pine Canyon on a late-August morning and you will pass the same thing riders have passed for longer than originally planned: a fenced construction pad at the base of the Quicksilver Gondola, right where the old seasonal Yurt used to stand. The Yurt served lunch and afternoon warm-ups for years. Now it is a job site, and it has stayed a job site well past the date first attached to it.

The timeline for the first clubhouse
The project itself is straightforward on paper. Two clubhouses are going up inside The Colony at White Pine Canyon. The first sits at the old Yurt site next to the Quicksilver Gondola and is planned as a ski lounge with lockers, a casual restaurant, and a coffee bar. The second is slated for the site of the old sales office and is meant to hold a pool, a bar, a restaurant, and gathering space.
Track the public timeline for the first clubhouse and you get more than one answer depending on when you asked. An earlier projection had it opening by early winter 2026, timed to the start of that ski season. By last fall, one property tour description mentioned owners previewing the lounge in progress rather than using it, which tells you it wasn't finished yet even as the season it was supposed to open for got underway. The most recent projection attached to the project pushes completion to spring 2026, with the HOA still finalizing hours of operation, menu, staffing, and pricing even as that window arrived.
Spring 2026 has now come and gone.
If you're standing at the gondola base this week, you're looking at a building that is either finished or very nearly finished, despite the missed projected date.
Nobody, at any point across any of the timelines circulating about this project, has attached a completion date to the pool-and-bar clubhouse at the old sales office site. Not an optimistic one, not a revised one. It simply doesn't have one yet.

That distinction is useful when weighing the two amenities, but it says little about what residents can use in the meantime.
What owners are actually doing this week
While the lounge gets built, the mountain itself hasn't waited on anyone's construction schedule. The Mid-Mountain Trail still threads across the mountainside at roughly 8,000 feet, cutting through Colony property on its way between Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort, and Canyons Village, and it remains the default ride for anyone who wants twenty-plus miles of high-alpine singletrack without leaving the gate. The Wasatch Crest Trail sits close enough to fold into the same loop for riders chasing something longer.
Wildlife is part of the deal on those rides, and it always has been. White Pine Canyon has long supported a summer elk herd historically estimated at around 300 animals, alongside moose, deer, bear, coyote, and mountain lion, according to a history of the neighborhood published by Park City Magazine. None of that is new this year, but it's worth a reminder heading into September, when animals start moving more and encounters on the private road network pick up.
For a change of scenery that doesn't require a car, Utah Olympic Park is close enough for a short bike ride or a quick drive down the canyon, and it runs summer programming that has nothing to do with snow, including visits to the Olympic visitor's center, a chance to watch a summer Olympic ski team practice, and a summer bobsled ride for anyone who wants to feel what a sliding-sport athlete feels without the ice.
Five minutes off the mountain
The Colony sits roughly halfway between Old Town Park City and Kimball Junction, but most weeknight errands don't require either drive. At the base of Canyons Village, a five-minute trip down from the gate gets you to Fresh Market for groceries, The Twisted Fern for an upscale seasonal dinner, and Sergio's for a straightforward Mexican meal that doesn't ask you to dress up first. Skiers dropped at the base of the Quicksilver Gondola in winter know Miner's Camp Restaurant as the on-mountain stop before or after a run, and it stays a useful landmark for orientation even in summer, when the gondola runs scenic rides rather than ski laps.
None of this is new information to anyone who has lived inside The Colony at White Pine Canyon for more than a season. But it is the actual backbone of daily life here right now, while the clubhouse project works through its own timeline in the background.
What to watch for as the lifts start turning again
One upcoming milestone for the first clubhouse is whether the ski lounge is fully staffed and running when Park City Mountain Resort opens for the 2026-27 season this November or December. This will provide an update on the lounge's operations for the season.
The second clubhouse has no completion date in the public record, leaving anyone hoping to swim at a new Colony pool this year or next without an announced date to plan around.
